Winter 2010 Youth Rec Leagues
Our recreational league is for players ages 17 and under. This league is for players who have completed mini mites or Hockey 201. Players will focus on teamwork and skill development. The recreational league is non-checking and will comprise of one practice and one to two games on the weekends.

Mites/Squirts Division Ages 9 and under	Squirts/Peewee Division Ages 9 - 12	Bantams/Midgets Division Ages 13 through 17

Season includes:

Fifteen weeks of practices and twelve games
Full Ice Hockey equipment is required
All games will be played on Saturday or Sundays
End of the season pizza party

Clearwater Ice Arena suggests you attend a Hockey 101, 201 or Mini Mite class, to be evaluated, before joining our recreational leagues. Players must also be registered with USA Hockey for the 2009 season. You may go to www.usahockey.com to register and bring the completed form with you on sign up day. Travel Hockey

The Tampa Bay Junior Lightning is one of the area’s premier competitive youth hockey clubs. Based out of Clearwater Ice Arena the Jr. Lightning fields teams in all age divisions. League play includes clubs from all over the central Florida area. (Ellenton, Oldsmar, Brandon, Kissimmee, and Orlando)

The club’s hockey operations are led by 15-year NHL veteran John Tucker, formerly of the Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning. John brings a technical prowess for the game as a coach and as a father. John helps young players develop a life long passion for the game.

Police Athletic League

The Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athletic League hockey program offers recreational Squirt / Peewee (ages 9 - 12) and Bantam “A” Travel (ages 13-14) hockey teams playing out of the Clearwater Ice Arena. Our sports programs serve as the foundation for the development of leadership skills, life skills and good sportsmanship. They also introduce opportunity, motivation and direction for the children. We operate year round with on ice and off-ice practices along with a one week summer camp.
