Adult Hockey

At Clearwater Ice Arena, our Adult Hockey Leagues allow you to continue the fun you had as a kid or it fulfills a desire to improve yourself by trying something new. We provide you with the knowledge, support and motivation you need to compete in an organized league. CIA has Adult Hockey Programs from beginner hockey clinics to top-level hockey leagues.

Adult Intermediate Hockey

Rules

  • 12 regular season games and 2 playoff games
  • Games will be played on Thursdays at 8:00pm, 9:15 pm and 10:30 pm
  • Game format will be as follows: 2 minute warm up. Three, 20 minute (running time) periods. The last three minutes of the third period will be stop time. There must be a three goal differential
  • All players must be USA Hockey registered. You can register online at www.usahockey.com. Please return the bar-coded receipt to the front desk.
  • Players must play five games (with one team) before being eligible for playoffs.
  • Players may not go onto the ice until the Zamboni is off the ice and the doors are shut, at which time the warm up will begin
  • Thirty seconds is allowed between periods and for time outs. Each team is allowed one time out.
  • The clock does not stop for any fighting or any such altercations
  • Players receiving a game misconduct penalty are suspended for the remainder of that game.
  • Verbal or physical abuse toward officials is not tolerated. Players will be ejected from the game.
  • Three strike policy: any major penalty, game misconduct, or excessive off-ice displays will be considered a strike. Three strikes in any one season will result in suspension without refund for a minimum of the remainder of the season.
  • Playoff seedings will be determined as follows: Record points (2 points for a win, one point for a time, no points for a loss), goals against, head to head against tied teams.
  • T-shirts and a rink trophy will be awarded to the winning team.
  • No one player can score more than three goals in a game. If fourth goal is scored the goal will be disallowed and brought to the attacking team's face-off circle.
  • Full ice hockey gear is required. Face cage or visor is optional.
  • No bottles or any type of glass drinks are allowed in the locker rooms.
